Cranes

Cranes

cranes are lifting devices used for moving heavy loads in environments such as factories, workshops, and warehouses. Due to the risk of injury and damage, periodic inspection and certification are legally required. This inspection is intended to ensure the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of the crane.

Purpose of the Inspection:

  • Timely detection of wear, mechanical defects, electrical faults, or structural issues that could compromise the safe operation of the overhead crane.

Inspection Points During the Inspection:

Mechanical:

  • Lifting mechanism (chain/hoist/cable) for wear, breaks, or fraying.
  • Hoist block, hook, and safety valve for deformation or overload.
  • Brake systems and overload protection (function and adjustment).
  • Wheels, trolleys, bearings, and rails for wear or misalignment.

Electrical:

  • Grounding, control cabinet, cables, and wiring for damage or aging.
  • Functioning of limit switches, emergency stop, and control system.
  • Safety devices such as thermal and current limiters.

Structural:

  • Load-bearing parts, welds, and suspension points for cracks, corrosion, or deformation.
  • Attachments to the building or support structure for stability.
